The mothers reading this will understand the feeling of “your day” turning into a regular Sunday by lunchtime.
But how do the mothers of Australia feel about their special day? Is it all it cracks up to be, or just another notch in the calendar? We checked in with the YouPay community to see what their thoughts were.
It’s their day, but do they even get excited for it? With the stress of an ill-fated selection of food and gifts looming, Mother’s Day can be anything but relaxing, so we asked the mothers how they felt.
Of the 98 respondents, the vast majority said that they DO look forward to Mother’ Day. Of the mothers who said they don’t look forward to Mother’s Day, some of the reasons were as follows:
This one was a bit more cut-and-dry.
It was a resounding yes to this question across the board. The theme of wanting appreciation was shared across the board, however the mothers aren’t looking for this appreciation from their kids. Partners out there, show your special someone how much they mean to you this Mother’s Day, as a huge portion of the respondents say they wish their partner put in more effort.
Now this one was a shocker – yes’s across the board.
In fact the yes’s outnumbered the no’s, however it’s not as bad as it seems. Some of the mother’s stated that they buy their gift for their kids to give to them (although some of the childrens’ ages were a tad high in our opinion), but some respondents claimed that they buy themselves their own gifts – period. Not on, YouPayers.
If you’ve been following along with us at home, you’ll know what’s coming for this one. The 98 respondents almost unanimously answered with yes, among a sprinkling of no’s. While the pandemic has influenced a fair few of the results, the main culprit for these disappointing Mother’s Days is the lack of effort
We can’t help you with the time part, but the effort is where YouPay CAN help.
