At YouPay, we love seeing creators express themselves uniquely! No two YouPay wishlists are the same, and that’s exactly how we designed it. Why? Because gifting is personal, and so are the relationships creators forge with their fans. In a world filled with online models, gamers, streamers, and content creators, there are millions of opportunities for connection. You can curate a following, but not every follower becomes a fan, and not every fan sends a gift. Of the fans that do send gifts, if you asked them why they did, the answer would be pretty simple: it’s you!
Who you are, your unique brand and marketing, and the audience you curate and engage with as a creator are what drive in gifts. Your fans approach you, support you, and gift you because of your personality, content, and unique voice. So, shouldn’t your wishlist reflect that?
All About You: The Benefits of Customizing Your YouPay Wishlist
From the gifts you list to your profile picture, customizing your wishlist can give your fans a more intimate and personal gifting experience than just gifting cash.
Think about it: while the word “Pilates” may not resonate with a fan who never has and never will step foot in a boutique workout studio, a photo of you in a Lululemon matching set at SolidCore might just get them to cover your session! Why? Because you’re making the content and concept around what you want understandable to the audience you’ve built!
This is one of the most important principles of marketing psychology, or the concept of using psychological principles to align your content strategy to its intended audience. Communicating on the level that your content consumers understand, whether visually or in writing, helps establish and strengthen a connection between your fans and you.
Many creators already utilize marketing psychology tips and tricks like these to build deeper connections with their audience… but how can we apply the same concept to our wishlists?
Let’s use the example of a $10 coffee. While you may think $10 is $10, your fans have a different experience sending $10 than they would compared to purchasing a coffee off your wishlist. Why? As creators add photos, titles, and descriptions to their gifts, fans get to see what they’re contributing towards as they do so. That $10 no longer is seen as just a gift payment, even if it ends up in your bank account — it becomes a way to directly contribute to your lifestyle. That’s the benefit of customizing and curating your wishlist.
How Do I Customize My YouPay Wishlist?
One of our iconic YouPay ambassadors, Honey, wrote a fantastic guide on how to use your wishlist to get what you want! It’s an excellent place to get started, and you can read it here! As Honey’s piece handles the artistic elements of how to customize your wishlist, we’ll tackle the practical ones and break down all of YouPay’s features and methods of customization, where to find them, and what they do!
Setting Up Making Your YouPay Wishlist Your Own
Your profile is a representation of you and your brand, and we know how important creativity can be… so we built YouPay with multiple ways to customize both your profile and your gifts!
Account Settings: Under account settings, you’ll find several tabs including private and public details, alongside an address tab, two-factor authentication options, privacy settings, and an update password tab. Under private details, you’ll find your personal information, alongside options to deactivate or delete your wishlist if needed (although we hope you never do!) Under public details, you’ll be able to add your display name, username, pronouns, bio, profile picture, and banner image.
Payment Settings: In payment settings, you’ll be able to see your cash gifting methods listed and access their associated dashboards and recent gifts tab. Alongside this, you’ll also find the ability to adjust specific settings, like opting in or out of surprise gifting on Coinflow or mass updating all cash gifts from one method to another.
Social Settings: With options for Twitch, Twitter/X, Bluesky, and social links, creators can find integrations for gift announcements and auto posts here! We recently rolled out the option to customize your autoposts on X and Bluesky and we love seeing how creative these are! Under the “Social Links” option, creators can add links to their social media accounts, clip stores, fansites, and websites to display on their profiles!
(And yes, we have a designated Onlyfans section, but you can add a custom link if you’re more of a Manyvids or Loyalfans creator! When we say we’re inclusive of adult creators, we mean it.)
Bulk Update Gifts: Whether you’re switching from one cash gifting provider to another or if you’d like to convert partner store items to cash gifts if they’re no longer in stock, it’s annoying to do it one by one… so we made it so you don’t have to! Under this tab, you’ll find the option to import your wishlist from Throne, update all of your cash gifts to Coinflow, and update partner store carts to the cash gift of your choice!
Customizing Your Gifts: Your Wishlist, Your Way!
There are four gifting options on YouPay: cash, store gift cards, VISA and Mastercard gift cards, and partner store items. Different regions have different options available, but all gifts can be customized with a gift name, gift amount, description, and image.
Cash Gifts: Our Methods, Requests, Surprise Gifts, and Crowdgifting
There are currently three cash gifting providers available on YouPay, depending on creator location.
Coinflow: Coinflow is available globally, is actively inclusive and welcoming of adult creators, and offers instant and same-day payouts. The method of payout depends on your region, with some countries being eligible for direct-to-bank deposits and others being eligible for crypto-wallet withdrawal only. Information on the cryptocurrency withdrawal process can be found here.
Creators opted into Coinflow cash gifting can send custom cash gift request links under the “Request Now” tab (and these request links can’t be altered by fans to send less, although they can send more!) On the opposite end, fans see the option to send a “YouPay Me Now” gift, which is a surprise cash gift in the amount of their choice. Creators with a Coinflow account can also create a crowdgift that multiple fans can contribute to with immediate access to their funds.
Borderless: Borderless is just coming out of the beta testing stage at YouPay but is quickly becoming a viable alternative for creators whose regions are not supported by Coinflow. Bordeless is a direct-to-bank cash gifting method currently available in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, UK and Netherlands. While creators in these regions can utilize Coinflow cryptocurrency cashout and the associated features like YouPay Me Now gifting, we heard your calls for direct-to-bank gifting options as well, and are excited about the ongoing beta test. We’re also excited about expanding Borderless to new regions in 2025.
Gift Cards + Partner Stores: Girl Math’s Best Friend
We don’t know if you’re from the same school of thought, but we love getting gift cards because it’s free shopping money. A $500 Lululemon gift card may only cover like, two sets, but it means more money in your pocket and cute new workout clothes… right? Getting your filming lingerie gifted and delivered instead of paying out of pocket only makes sense…
There are two categories of gift cards on YouPay: Visa and Mastercard prepaid gift cards, and store-specific gift cards.
VISA and Mastercard Prepaid Gift Cards:
For many creators, Visa and Mastercard prepaid global gift cards are their preferred method of gifting! These digital cards are instantly issued, can be added to their Apple and Google digital wallets depending on the region, and can be used as a form of contactless payment. Card details can also be used for online shopping, in the same way that you might use a debit card to buy a new pair of jeans online! Each card is single issue: they can’t be combined or reloaded.
Individual Store Gift Cards:
YouPay has thousands of gift card options across multiple countries and currencies, from Amazon to Uber Eats! Gift cards are instantly issued, sent directly to your email, and are instantly usable, with many being downloadable to your digital wallet.
Whether you’re looking to fund a new MacBook with Apple or Best Buy gift cards or treat yourself to a coffee or sandwich, you can use YouPay gift cards to fund your everyday life. You can explore our gift card options here! If you don’t see any gift cards available for your country or would like us to add more, please reach out! We’re always happy to plan for expansion.
Partner Store Gifts: With highly desired partner stores like Honey Birdette, Anoeses, Hella Heels, and more, creators can have their fans send gifts directly to their door, all while keeping their information safe and secure. Creators can add entire carts or single items to their wishlists, allowing fans to send entire hauls or something small! See our available partner stores here!
Organizing Your YouPay: Curating and Creating Your Perfect Wishlist
Called To Order: How To Move + Pin Your Gifts
In the meantime, there are two ways to organize gifts on your primary wishlist: pinning the gift to the top of your profile or using the arrows to move a gift to your desired position. NEW: There is now also a “Sort Gifts” button that lets you drag and drop your gifts into any order you want.
To pin a gift, go to your profile and identify the gift you’d like to pin. Click the three dots on the top right corner of your gift and select “Pin/Unpin” to move or remove the gift from the top of your primary wishlist. The other option can be found on the top left corner of your gift, up and down arrows that can be used to move your designated gift up or down one space at a time.
Secondary Wishlists: How To Create Them + What They Do
Your primary wishlist, the default setting, is the page you see when you head to your custom YouPay profile link. However, you’re also able to create secondary wishlists that are listed at the top of your profile, and list separate gifts on there! To do so, select “add wishlist” under your “add gift” tab. From there, you’ll be able to add a wishlist title, description, custom profile photo, and cover photo, and select if you’d like the wishlist to be visible on your profile or not.
For example, our Head of Creator Relations, Victoria, has two secondary wishlists: one titled “Approach and Impress” for gifts she finds suitable as an introduction, and one titled “Lingerie and Latex” for partner store items from Anoeses and Honey Birdette! Gifts listed on your secondary wishlists don’t populate on your primary profile, so it can be a fun way to organize specific things like gifts you’d like for an upcoming vacation!
Hidden + Secret Gifts: Keep It Quiet
But what about if you don’t want to showcase a gift… or even want to hide a gift from your profile? You can find the option to list a gift on “no wishlist” in your wishlist settings tab when adding a new gift or editing an existing one. Gifts listed under the “no wishlist” option are hidden from both primary and secondary wishlists, but can still be found via a direct link! This is a great way to send a gift card or partner store item to a fan directly while keeping your wishlist curated to your exact tastes.
